Speakers:
Venice Williams – Executive Director | Alice’s Garden
Sojourner White – Social Worker & digital storyteller | Sojournies
Description:
Join us for an inspiring evening with mother-daughter duo Venice Williams and Sojourner White as they explore legacy, leadership, and the power of community.
As Executive Director of Alice’s Garden, Venice Williams is often described as a “community mother”—someone who brings people together across differences with care, intention, and vision. Her leadership has helped transform Alice’s Garden into a living example of what happens when community is centered and cultivated.
Her daughter, Sojourner White, carries that same spirit forward in her own way. A social worker by profession and a digital storyteller by passion, Sojourner’s work is deeply influenced by her mother’s ability to connect, listen, and lead with heart. Through her platform Sojournies, she helps aspiring travelers—especially those balancing full-time careers—turn their bucket-list dreams into reality.
Sojourner’s writing spans travel, culture, and identity, with a focus on Black travel, solo travel, train journeys, and food. Her work has appeared in Travel + Leisure, USA Today, Fodor’s, Insider, and Lonely Planet, and her platform has been featured in Buzzfeed, PopSugar, and Thrillist.
Together, Venice and Sojourner will explore the intersections of motherhood, mentorship, community-building, creativity, and purpose, offering an intimate look at how values are passed down—and reimagined—across generations.
Join us for an evening of connection, conversation, and inspiration as we celebrate the women who shape us and the mavens who carry that legacy forward.
